Before I begin babbling about myself, I would like to welcome you to Betwinkled. My name is Marisol and I have been beading seriously for almost four years now. After careful consideration and planning, I just recently decided to open Betwinkled up to the rest of the world. My ultimate goal is to beautify women of all ages. Prices vary based on the materials used, intricacy and availability (limited edition or one-of-a-kind) of the design.
My beading craze began by borrowing jewelry-making books from the library and actually teaching myself. During my learning process, I beaded so much that I was able to wear something different every day. My friends and co-workers would ask me where I got that necklace or those earrings and after revealing to them that I was making them myself, they would place order after order. Many times you would find me beading past midnight in order to catch up with the orders. This constant practice was what eventually helped me perfect this art. It quickly became my passion. Well, this is what I did until I saw that people were really enjoying my designs and I was getting orders faster than I ever anticipated. This is precisely the point when I decided to expand to the internet. As a result, Betwinkled was born on a very hot, sunny day in Miami, Florida.
To tell you the truth, about the only previous experience that I had took place when I was a little girl. My grandfather used to take me to this craft store that was called Diamond’s. I used to love this trip since the sole purpose for it was to buy beading supplies. I would not get too complicated with clasps or other beading components. A good ol’ fashion knot would work just fine for my schoolmate customers and I. Yes, I was already an entrepreneur-in-the-making at the tender age of about eight. I made jewelry sets, which included beaded pin and all. Instead of using small boxes, I would get the 35-millimeter small, black containers used to store film in from my grandfather and sold the sets in those. I had a good sense of investing at that age, for I would take the few cents I made and used it to buy more supplies. I believe this early experience is what planted the seed.
Last and most importantly, I am very excited to share my creations with you. I am open for any questions and/or comments, so please feel free to
e-mail me on anything. I truly welcome you to Betwinkled. Hopefully you enjoy your visit and continue coming back for more.![]()
